Starts And Styles

              “waiting for summer”
I am most attracted to the fresh energy in uninhibited, spontaneous, beginning stages of blocking  in a painting. I attempt to keep this loose interpretation present through the finished painting. It is a constant goal and challenge to not go to far. The human eye does  not view the world as the frozen moment in time that photography has shown us. Rather the mind and eye translate the world in constant motion. Edges are soft and blurred as the move and recede in space. Sharing my own professional challenges with students often helps them problem solve within their own process.
